From Chaos to Calm
An Easy-to-Follow Plan to Destroy the Chaos (One Step at a Time)
It was 11:30 p.m., and I was crawling into bed when it hit me: I had a 6 a.m. appointment.
Cue the panic.
Dinner dishes were piled in the sink, clothes on the couch, shoes by the door. I had no idea where my purse was (or my keys), and my special-needs son had to be out the door with me at dawn.

I stood there, grumbling about why no one else ever picked up after themselves — and then it hit me like a messy-kitchen epiphany: I was setting the example.
I was the one who told everyone not to worry about dishes. I was the one who dumped clean clothes on the table. My actions were louder than my words.
That was the night I decided to go from chaos to calm — one week, one goal, one small win at a time.
Why I’m Sharing This
Because if I can kick my chaos habits (and my family’s inherited hoarder tendencies), so can you.
When your home feels organized and your days have flow, life gets lighter. You have energy again. You find time to rest and play. And mornings don’t start with a panic search for your keys.
This is the start of my From Chaos to Calm series — a real-life roadmap to building order, peace, and calm into your every day.
The Honest Truth

If you’ve ever:
Forgotten an appointment (again)
Stayed up too late catching up on “just one more thing”
Realized dinner isn’t planned five minutes before dinner
Or walked into a room and thought, where do I even start?
You’re not alone.
I’ve been there — multiple times. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress.
Time management is a skill, not a personality trait. It takes practice, patience, and (sometimes) a healthy sense of humor.
My Plan: One Step, One Goal, One Week
Here’s how we’ll walk this journey together:
Each week, we’ll tackle a small but mighty area — habits, systems, mindset, or physical space.
I’ll share what’s worked for me (and what hasn’t).
You’ll have tools, checklists, and plenty of encouragement to build your own calm foundation.
This week, we start with where to begin — because getting back to calm starts with one simple thing: a plan.
Building the Foundation
Creating calm isn’t about overhauling your life overnight. It’s about creating a structure that supports you when things inevitably get chaotic again.
Like a pyramid, your life, home, and routines need a strong foundation — built slowly, intentionally, and step by step. Once that’s in place, everything else gets easier.
What’s Coming Next in the Series
Over the next few weeks, I’ll share:
Chaos to Calm (that's this one)
Routines That Rescue
Redefine Perfect
Keep the Calm
Real-life glimpses into my messy-to-motivated moments
Tutorials and how-tos for getting organized
Printables and planners to help you stay on track
A few recipes (and maybe a lonely sock pic or two)
Motivation, inspiration, and accountability
This series isn’t about being perfect — it’s about learning how you work best, finding your rhythm, and building a system that fits your life.
A Final Word of Encouragement
Stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?” or “Why can’t I get it together?”
Nothing is wrong with you. You just haven’t found the system that clicks yet — but you can fix that.

You’ve got this. One step, one day, one drawer at a time.
