Nice to Meet You — I’m Katy

Business Owner • Public Speaker • Special-Needs Mom • Professional Squirrel Herder

I’m a business-building strategist with a creative brain, a practical streak, and a deep belief that entrepreneurship should support your life — not steal it.

I’m also a kid at heart. I love getting my hands dirty in the yard, reading epic stories, experimenting with technology, and imagining myself as a superhero (because in real life, I’m a single mom to two adult kids and the primary caregiver to my adult-disabled son). Life is full, meaningful, and sometimes messy — and that reality shapes everything I build.

At my core, I’m a helper.

The way I help best? By cutting through chaos, creating clear, actionable plans, and helping people implement them — fast. That’s where the squirrel herding comes in.

Why I Do Things Differently

I’ve been an entrepreneur since 2013, back when resources were scarce and most people guarded their “secrets” to starting and growing a business. I did a lot of trial-and-error learning, a lot of late-night Googling, and yes… a lot of chasing shiny ideas without a clear plan.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by too many ideas, distracted by what everyone else is doing, or frozen because you don’t know what to do next — I’ve been there.

Eventually, I realized the problem wasn’t a lack of ideas or motivation.
It was a lack of simple systems and focused direction.

So I stopped chasing squirrels… and learned how to herd them instead.

Why “Squirrel Herder”?

It started as a joke — but it stuck because it’s true.

I’m naturally creative, curious, and idea-rich. That also means I’m prone to shiny-object syndrome, procrastination, and overthinking. Once I stopped fighting that and started building systems that worked with my brain, everything changed.

As I refined my own business — simplifying processes, building repeatable systems, and focusing on one step at a time — I knew I couldn’t keep this to myself.

That’s when I began creating and sharing toolkits, frameworks, and guided experiences to help other entrepreneurs move forward faster — without burning out or doing everything the hard way.

How I Help (and What Makes This Different)

I have a knack for teaching what I know in a way that’s clear, practical, and doable.

No fluff.
No jargon.
No “figure it out as you go.”

I break things down into simple steps, hand you the tools, and help you build momentum — even if your time, energy, or focus is limited.

Because I believe this deeply:

If you’re building a business so you can be present with your family, care for loved ones, or design a life that actually fits — you shouldn’t have to struggle your way there.

The world doesn’t need another copy-paste solution.
It’s waiting for yours.

And I’m here to help you bring it to life — one focused step at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've worked with a coach before. How are you different?

That’s a fair question — and an important one.

I’m not here to “fix” you or hand you a one-size-fits-all formula. I’m a strategist, not a coach. That means we work together to design a business and visibility plan that fits you — your strengths, your capacity, and how you actually work.

I listen first.

I ask better questions.

And I help you see the opportunities that already exist in your story.

This isn’t about learning my system or copying my process. Your audience doesn’t need my voice — they came for yours. My role is to help you clarify it, share it with confidence, and build a business that supports it.

Why would I hire another strategist when I’ve already invested in coaching?

If you’re asking this, chances are you’re not lazy or unmotivated — you’re overwhelmed.

Most entrepreneurs I work with are ready to take action, but they’re stuck trying to figure out:

What to do next

What actually matters

And what can safely be ignored

Many have invested in programs, masterclasses, or “quick-win” offers that promised clarity… and delivered more confusion.

Here’s the difference:
I don’t pile on more information. I help you organize what you already know, choose the right next step, and build momentum in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

You’re not the problem. You just need a clearer map.

Should I start my own business? Is it even worth the effort?

That depends — and it’s okay not to know the answer yet.

A few important questions to consider:

Are others doing something similar? (That’s usually a good sign, not a dealbreaker.)

Are you willing to give it time and consistency? Building a business is more like building a house than buying a lottery ticket.

Do you understand your natural strengths and how you work best?

If you’re unsure where you fit, I’ve created a free Entrepreneurial Quiz to help you identify your strengths and explore business models that align with how you’re wired — not how someone else says you should do it.

I hear you talk about building an authentic, passionate business — what does that actually mean? And can you help me do that?

Absolutely. This is the heart of my work.

An authentic business isn’t about oversharing or forcing yourself into a “personal brand” box. It’s about building something that reflects your values, your strengths, and the life you want to support.

We start with a strategy session to clarify:

Where you are right now

What’s feeling heavy or unclear

What you actually want your business to do for you

And how to share your story in a way that feels honest and comfortable

I won’t tell your story for you — but I will help you tell it with clarity, confidence, and ease. The kind that builds trust, attracts the right people, and turns connection into consistent income.

You don’t need to become someone else to succeed.
You just need the right structure to support who you already are.

If you’re looking for clarity, momentum, and a strategy that works with your life — not against it — I’d love to support you.

Working with Katy has given me the tools I needed to jump start marketing my business. Before I was always chasing squirrels, falling down rabbit holes, and spending money on coaches or programs that fell flat. I am thrilled that I've been able to have an online presence that gets noticed, see revenue from product sales, and have an organized marketing system that keeps me on track.

Working with Katy has been instrumental in expanding my business model. Her professionalism, insights, and experience have increased and improved my digital footprint. As well, the relationship of trust that we built has afforded me to focus on the work I am passionate about and let her take an idea and run with it. Just as important, Katy is willing to adjust to meet my needs without compromising her own values or integrity. It takes a special person to be able to balance this. I am grateful for all of Katy's contributions in my business.

Tell me what you love to do and I'll show you how to sell it!
